Why Think Local

In hard economic times, many of us feel helpless to improve the state of our local economy, but there’s something each of us can do that will have an immediate, positive effect: Think Local!

Dollars spent at local, independently owned businesses have at least 3 times the positive impact on our local economy as dollars spent elsewhere.

This is because of the "Local Multiplier"; when you spend a dollar with a local independently owned business, that business owner is more likely to spend that dollar with another local business or pay a local employee, which puts more money into our local economic system, and creates more jobs and wealth in our community.

There are other great reasons to "Think Local" such as more consumer choice, a healthier environment, more responsive government, and more.
